So it's been a long time since my last update and so much has happened, I've had no time until now to keep up news! So the big news is I've relocated to Scotland to continue work started last year on developing Scots Gaelic circus and street theatre! My bilingual Circus Theatre play 'An Gille agus Maighistir Tìm'/Boy and Mr Time is scheduled for a national tour of Scottish schools and festivals later this year with some truly amazing partners, and there are many other exciting plans afoot. I've always wanted to be fluent in Scots Gaelic, as my grandmother's family (nee MacKechnie) came out to Australia for the Goldrush during the Highland Clearances from the Isle of Mull in the 1840's, so it's been truly wonderful to finally realise this rather heartfelt ambition.
But what about all my years in Ireland and work with the Irish language? I'm not leaving Irish by any means, and have been working on a series of developing bilingual Irish/Scots Gaelic circus skills workshops, and a couple of other exciting things as well! I'm also continuing my freelance work as a professional translator into Irish between my creative work, and am of course, still available for performance work and workshops in Irish and English in Ireland as well. Here's to what looks like a fascinating and exciting 2013!
