My very first booking for a professional gig in Scots Gaelic! So excited about taking Gráinne Mhór to Glasgow for a festival in late July - I've been working very hard on my Scots Gaelic so I'm really looking forward to using it! Now just to think of how I can adapt Gráinne Mhaol's patter to more suited to a Scottish context...suggestions on a postcard!
As I'm insanely busy at the moment, the Scots Gaelic version of my website is going to be translated by a very good friend and professional translator, Steafan Risnie, and I hope the site will be ready by late May.
Part of the reason I'm insanely busy is because I've started work on the fabulous 'Pat and Plain' project for the Lyric Theatre, which is in partnership with the Ulster Scots Agency and Foras na Gaeilge. I'm the mentor for a small Irish-language school in Belfast in their production of Dan Gordon's Titanic-themed play 'Bhí sí ceart go leor nuair a d'fhág sí muid / She was alright when she left us'. My first workshop with the P7 children of the school last week was utterly amazing, they achieved an awful lot, even surprising their teachers, and I'm so looking forward to taking this journey with them.
