Neach-Ealain air Mhuintireas - Artist in Residence Irvine Festival of Light
Bha e na urram fìor mhòr dhomh a bhith nam Neach-Ealain air Mhuinntireas dhan fhèis seo am bliadhna - being Artist in Residence at the Scottish Maritime Museum for this new festival was not only one of the highlights of my year, but of my entire artistic career as well. Though an intense three and a half weeks, delivering some 18 workshops for school, community & youth groups whilst creating a 12ft Phoenix Ship, a collaborative 'Bàta nam Bruadaran' / Ship of Dreams, and many lanterns, the project was an incredible experience. Tha grùnn dhealbhan gu h-ìosal. It also provided an opportunity to bring the Paisley Phoenix Rising costumes created for the Paisley Halloween Parade to engage with further dancers, as well as lead the creation of bilingual St Andrew's Themed lanterns for the late November event.
