Wigtown Book Festival & Sir Prof. Tom Devine

Ariel was honoured to feature as part of Scotland's acclaimed Wigtown Book Festival, in Scotland's National Book Town, for the first time this year, delivering a very well attended bilingual Gaelic Graffiti Workshop & her Adventures with the Gaelic Tree Alphabet Storytelling workshop. As Scotland's foremost historian, Sir Professor Tom Devine, was also part of the festival to launch his latest book on the Clearances, Ariel had the opportunity to conduct a near hour-long interview with Tom on the significance of Shiaba - the Mull coastal village from which some of her ancestors were cleared and which Tom Devine has described as 'the most significant site in the Western Highlands' and 'a perfect laboratory for studying the Clearances. The interview is above and further information on Ariel's Scottish family history is here.
